Ambassador Bordonaro Speaks to Young Enterprise Malta Students

Ambassador Bordonaro spoke to participants of Young Enterprise Malta at their annual Master Class training session.  Ambassador Bordonaro spoke of the importance of applying a sense of entrepreneurship in all careers.  She encouraged students to be creative, think out of the box and to be committed to their aspirations.  Ambassador Bordonaro spoke about the importance of value-based entrepreneurship and how businesses can address global challenges such as the environment.  Through Young Enterprise Malta, students create their own business and operate it over a nine month period.  For more information on Young Enterprise Malta click here.

Ambassador Bordonaro Launches Computer Room at Centru Tbexbix

Ambassador Bordonaro officially opened the computer room at Centru Tbexbix in Cospicua.  Centru Tbexbix, which opened its doors earlier this year, is a community educational and social service project.  One of the programs offered by the Centru is the Sunrise English Club, which provides after-school, English-language instruction for children and adults wishing to improve their English language skills.  During the activities students play interactive games, sing songs, read books, and now use computers to practice English.    A small group of volunteers created and run the facility, which is funded entirely by donations.  The U.S. Embassy has provided partial support for the computer room.  For more information on Centru Tbexbix phone on 21805130 or e-mail on tbexbix@gmail.com.

US Embassy celebrates 231st Birthday of the Marine corps

The U.S. Embassy in Malta marked the 231st Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps on 11 November.  Each year, on or around November 10th, Marine Corps detachments around the world mark the birthday of the Marines.  There has been a detachment of U.S. Marines at the U.S. Embassy in Malta for over 20 years.  U.S. Marine Corps detachments are found at 150 U.S. embassies and consulates overseas.  Marines provide security inside U.S. Government buildings.
